If you’re looking for a peaceful luxury cabin stay in Kerry, Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa is a beautiful spot to unwind. Set just outside Tralee, this award-winning spa hotel in Ireland has recently added a collection of cosy Estate Cabins that offer the perfect balance of comfort, style, and nature. These new luxury cabins in Kerry offer the comfort of a private retreat with the added bonus of a world-class spa just a short stroll away. From the moment we arrived, we felt looked after in the most gentle and grounding way. If you’re searching for a luxury spa hotel in Kerry that combines nature, rest, and comfort, this is a place worth bookmarking.

Exactly what we needed, right when we needed it.

Some places just feel good to be in. No drama, no fuss. Just quiet comfort, thoughtful touches, and a sense that you can finally breathe out. That’s how we felt from the moment we arrived at Ballygarry Estate in Tralee. We have always had a soft spot for Ballygarry Hotel because we hosted our pre-wedding BBQ there when we went to Kerry to get married.

This time we were invited to experience their new Estate Cabins, and honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better. Nicola had been in a bit of an energy slump. Travelling with chronic illness can be unpredictable, and some days just feel heavier than others. What we really needed was a slow few days, wrapped in calm. Ballygarry gave us that and more.

Luxury Cabins Ireland: Our Stay at Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa

The Estate Cabins are tucked away on the edge of the grounds, just a short walk from the main hotel. They’re surrounded by nature, which made it feel like our own little sanctuary. There are 8 cabins in total and they are a little pocket of calm in Kerry. You get all the perks of a luxury hotel, but with that peaceful, tucked-away feeling that we love.

Inside, everything was warm and beautifully done. Underfloor heating, a huge comfy bed, and windows that filled the space with natural light. We had a small terrace where we sat with our morning coffee, watching the trees sway in the breeze. No rush. No schedule. Just stillness.

It’s rare to find somewhere that balances luxury with real comfort, but these cabins do exactly that. Nothing felt over-the-top. Just considered, cosy, and peaceful.

Time to unwind at Nádúr Spa

The best part? The spa was just two minutes from our cabin. We walked over in our robes and felt like we were floating before we even got there. Guests have complimentary access to the thermal suite, so we started with some time in the gorgeous relaxation pod and then moved between the sauna, steam room, and outdoor hot tub. It’s the kind of place where your shoulders drop without you even realising.

We had booked in for a VOYA seaweed bath, which turned out to be exactly what Nicola needed. The seaweed is organic and hand-harvested off the Irish coast in Sligo, and it’s packed full of nutrients that help soothe inflammation, ease muscle tension, and nourish the skin.

The warm bath felt like a deep exhale. Nicola left feeling softer, calmer, and more like herself again. And for anyone navigating illness, burnout, or exhaustion, that feeling is everything.

Eco-friendly Luxury

Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa takes sustainability seriously and you can really notice it throughout your stay. Over the last few years they’ve reduced their carbon footprint from 462 tonnes in 2017 to just over 8 tonnes in 2022, with audited credentials to prove it. The estate now runs on green energy and is currently carbon-neutral. On-site you’ll find an integrated constructed wetlands system that naturally treats wastewater using reed‑bed filtration while boosting biodiversity and carbon capture. They also planted nearly 30,000 native trees and wildflower meadows, created habitats for native bees and set up beehives as part of the All‑Ireland Pollinator Plan. Plus, they were the first hotel in Ireland to offer universal EV charging with Tesla Superchargers, a real step toward low‑emission travel for guests. In 2024 they even won the IGTOA Sustainability Award for outstanding environmental leadership.

Things to do nearby

If you can peel yourself away from the cabin, Ballygarry Estate is a great base for exploring Kerry. A few suggestions for your itinerary:

  • Walk the Tralee Town Park or visit the nearby Blennerville Windmill
  • Spend a day driving the Dingle Peninsula
  • Visit Fenit Beach for a breezy coastal walk
  • Stop in town for a bite at Croí or a coffee at Yummy Cafe Market

But honestly? We spent most of our time wrapped up in robes, dipping between the thermal suite and the cabin, and that was perfect.
